1. Who is Michelle Duggar of Arkansas? Why is she in the news?

Michelle Duggar is the wife of Jim Bob Duggar, former Arkansas state legislator, and mother of 16 children. Apparently, they are Christians also. I am not sure why they are in the news except for the fact that they are continuing to procreate at a remarkable rate and something of small town celebrities in the state of Arkansas. Upon giving birth to her 15th child, Mrs. Duggar was awarded the Arkansas Young Mother of the Year award. At the last report on October 14, 2005 when she had her 16th baby, MSNBC reported that she plans to have more children.

2.(B) In some circles it is said that Bush placed Miers on the nomination plate first knowing that she would not make it to the confirmation level and that he is now going to put forward his real nominee. How do you feel about that statement?

I think President Bush is a very determined individual and when he decides to do something he makes arrangements to go about doing it no matter what anyone says. Having said this I believe he did nominate Harriet Miers in honesty. Furthermore, I believe the President also is a person that likes to hold his friends close to him and have faith that he can give them the confidence to do the job even if they are not qualified. This is the typical handiwork of an unexperienced businessman but a necessary step in order to discover the exceptional individuals and their exceptional qualities. Honestly, I believe that Bush could have found a better candidate, but Miers was probably the only lawyer he knew and trusted.

3. Fresno, California has the highest concentration of residents in extremely poor neighborhoods (study released by the Brookings Institution). What are some solutions to dissolve pockets of poverty? Why is it said that the rich and poor view poverty very differently?

I suggest we do something to stabalize the economy where the divide between rich and poor isn't so large. A great way would to make houses more affordable and job security more efficient. This can be done by offering more government sponsored low income housing or making proposals to private developers to introduce mixed income neighborhoods where there are significant populations of poor people. Job security can be found when America stops outsourcing its jobs to lower wage countries. The government should make efforts to bring back America's manufacturing and technical jobs back to America instead of sending wages to China and India where it is cheaper.

The rich don't live the life of poor people and the poor don't live the life of rich people. Therefore, they cannot understand what kinds of responsibilities and pressures each group faces respectively. I once dated a rich girl and she left me at the drop of a hat for a doctor. Inagine my heartbroken suprise when I found our time together was a misunderstanding. It has taken me many years and sleepless nights to reach a point where I can try to understand her decision. However, after all this time I do not blame her and instead hope that maybe she has learned from the experience as I definitely had. Boy was that a crazee time too. You want an adventure I strongly reccomend you date outside your financial means. There's all sorts of stuff that comes up like 2ply or 1ply and who gets the tab at a 5 star restaurant.
