BUYING A NEW WATCH?

The big thing I've been looking at lately is watches.
An insider friend of mine has given me some tips on watches and I'm gonna pass a little on.

First off, white is the new color on watches. It's all white white white, just like it was for black in the 80's. Forget Movado, it's all Nixon and Fossil right now. And incidentally, Nixon watches are actually Fossil watches with the name switched. As if I might buy either, but just so u know.

TOY WATCH is a cheap platic watch that is very very hot right now. These babies are a new diver watch knock off the same way that Swatch took us over in the late 80's. This is a great all occasion watch that transitions casual to formal easily. I personally think it's weird that the plastic parts all squeak real bad when you put it on but that's just me.

INVICTA WATCH has a great new link band that they have developed out of "textured translucent ultralight thermopolymer." Um, it's rubber and it's bendable AND it still looks like a metal linked band. I haven't seen something like thins on a watch b4 so check it out. The colors are kinda fruity so I might only consider this for feminent types.
Here's a really annoying flash site for you to navigate:
http://www.invictawatch.com/

ZODIAC WATCH has made some ugly ass watches with bands infused in certain scents complimenting their colors. There are berry scents for the colorful watches and vanilla scents for the more basic shades. I am not quite sure what they were thinking here, but fat guys like me need all the odor enhancement we can get ...

And here is the latest and greatest in watches my friends. Enjoy.

2/16/07 Ralph Nader speaks at Books Inc. independent bookstore chain

Independent Green Party Leader, Ralph Nader speaks about his latest book, The Seventeen Traditions. Not to say that I completely support the guy but definitely support the existence of his party. No matter what you feel, please show up and listen to what's going on and hear another perspective. I saw his speak once at SFSU and was very impressed with his steadfast as the whole audience proceded to dismantle him while he proceeded to dismantle the government. Entertaining to say the least.

Ralph Nader Author Appearance - The Seventeen Traditions

Books Inc. in Opera Plaza
601 Van Ness
San Francisco, CA 94103
Near City Hall building

Description and book excerpt:

My boyhood in a small town in Connecticut was shaped by my family, my friends, our neighbors, my chores and hobbies, the town's culture and environment, its schools, libraries, factories, and businesses, their workers, and by storms that came from nowhere to disrupt everything. . . . Yet childhood in any family is a mysterious experience. . . . What shapes the mind, the personality, the character?
So begins this unexpected and extraordinary book by Ralph Nader. Known for his lifetime of selfless activism, Nader now looks back to the earliest days of his own life, to his serene and enriching childhood in bucolic Winsted, Connecticut. From listening to learning, from patriotism to argument, from work to simple enjoyment, Nader revisits seventeen key traditions he absorbed from his parents, his siblings, and the people in his community, and draws from them inspiring lessons for today's society. Warmly human, rich with sensory memories and lasting wisdom, it offers a kind of modern-day parable of how we grow from children into responsible adults— a reminder of a time when nature and community were central to the way we all learned and lived.
